Concept

素粋居

Soil, stone, plaster, wood, lacquer, washi paper, glass, and iron—
Sosuikyo: a museum-like retreat featuring 12 villas
centered around these eight materials.

We selected authentic, naturally beautiful materials for each individual structure to create twelve villas that acquire greater character over time.
The space, appointed with contemporary art, crafts, and antiques, feels like an exceptionally comfortable art museum.
Next time, I want to experience the materials and art at that villa—such are the expanding possibilities for enjoyment during a stay.

Landscape

Experience the changing seasons
at this villa—reminiscent of an
art museum—nestled amidst the trees.

The changing seasons of Mount Gozaisho—a renowned peak in the Suzuka Mountains—and the gentle murmuring of the Mitaki River: the nature of these deep mountains invites you into an extraordinary world.

Relaxation

Open-air bath with free-flowing
hot spring water directly from the source

Each villa features a specially designed open-air bath. The free-flowing alkaline simple hot spring water leaves the skin feeling smooth while gently soothing both body and mind.

Dining

The delicious flavors and
wholesome goodness of nature

Dine at one of our three restaurants, each harnessing the elemental powers of wind, water, and fire found at Yunoyama Onsen. Savor delicious, wholesome flavors that highlight the quality of our carefully selected ingredients.
